I haven't been on here in a long time.  I had been thinking about posting something for awhile.  Last night something post worthy definitely happened.  We had a bat in our house.  I should say have, since the animal control lady couldn't find it in our basement.  It kept flying around in our kitchen and living room.  We were pretty much freaking out.  I'm sure we looked ridiculous.  We think it went into the basement, so we shut it down in there.  The gal who came to catch it couldn't find it.  Hopefully it will come out while I'm gone today and be disposed of before I get home!  I guess we'll find out later today.

I can't believe there are less than 2 weeks left of school.  Things are wrapping up pretty nicely.  I have a philosophy paper to write, one presentation, one take home final, and 2 tests.  Its funny how lax you get about things as the years go by. My freshmen year I probably would've been freaking out right about now. So it feels nice to just be taking one thing at a time until they all get done.

This week has actually been really great...bittersweet I guess.  Emily and I met for the last time on Monday.  She is not exactly sure where she will be next year, but she is definitely moving campuses.  I am so grateful for the 2 years she has spent investing in me and watching the Lord work in my life.  She has become such a dear friend that I love, respect, and look up to.  We went to the Olive Garden and had a tasty meal.  She read this card to me that she had written half way through our meal.  We both thought we would be fine, but as soon as she started reading it we were both in tears.  It was kind of comical, the two of us sitting in the middle of Olive Garden crying our eyes out. The waiter came to give us more drinks and probably felt a little awkward.  I think I will cherish that letter and what it symbolizes for a very long time.  It is just a good reminder to me of the way the Lord has blessed me through relationships like  the one I have with Emily and spurs me on to invest my time in people in whatever way the Lord calls me to.

Later that night I went to meet with Chris like normal.  When I arrived she had a gift for me with a nice card in it too.  It was so thoughtful of her and made me feel genuinely loved and appreciated.  Thanks Chris.  You have been a joy to see grow over the last 1 1/2 years and I'm excited for all the fun and excitement that the summer will hold!

The whole day was such a blessing and helped me to see that God is definitely among us and using his followers to help one another grow closer to him.  As I was trying to go to sleep that night I couldn't stop thinking about how humbling it is that God actually chooses to use us.  Praise be to Him!

My mom is coming this weekend to shop for bridesmaids dresses. I think we are also going to plant some flowers at my house, either in pots or in front of our porch.  I'm very excited about that.  I've helped her in the past but don't really know quite what I am doing. I think its about time to learn.

I'm going to Wheaton next week for Mark's graduation. It seems weird to me that my trips to Wheaton will soon be over and even weirder that Mark will most likely  never be a student again.  When I go back to school next fall he will be simply going to work.  Crazy!

Well, thats all for now.  Enjoy the spring everyone!

I got my wedding dress last Saturday.  It is absolutely beautiful!  I am very very bad at keeping secrets though, so hopefully I can keep my mouth shut for the next 8 months to Mark.  8 months is a long time to keep a secret!

Today Kim and I were driving down 16th St in downtown Lincoln.  I looked in my rearview mirror and saw an elephant walking on the sidewalk. Yes, a large elephant.  I also saw a clown crossing the street.  The circus has officially arrived.

Kim and I also had a little "incident" with a yummy pan of brownies we baked last night.  We were planning on bringing them to Central City with us today.  Too bad we forgot them on top of the car after we got done loading it.  After turning onto 17th St. from Harwood we heard something sliding.  We were both confused until we looked behind us and saw the pan of brownies laying in the middle of the road.  We saw a few cars dodge the pan.  We went around the block and got out of the car.  The pan had definitely been run over and one whole side of it is now completely smooshed.  That same side of the brownies has a nice big tire mark on them.  oops.  It made for some good laughter and an even better story though.  When I told Mark about the brownies he wondered why we weren't eating the side that didn't get run over.  (I can save them for you honey because I won't be eating them.)  We just bought another box once we got to Central City and baked them tonight.  They were tasty.

Those were the last few days.....the days before them were spent in Wheaton with Mark. I went to some classes, hung out at the stupe, played some pool and foosball, ate some delicious food, and saw lots of people.  It was good times.  We also went to Second Baptist Church, the black church in Wheaton.  It was a good time and a neat experience to have.....very full of joy.  Dakarai you are right, your churches are more fun.

It was good to spend time with Mark and fun being introduced to people as his fiancee!  I think the trip made us both long to be married so that our relationship will no longer consist of visits, but consistant time spent together in normal daily life.  We are always feeling like whoever is being visited has to entertain the other person because they are the "host".  Ahh...when the days of hosting and living  8 hours apart will be over!

Anyway, I am off to bed!  Have a great weekend.

This week has been so full of blessings.  Beautiful weather.  Frisbee.  Cancelled classes.  Conversation with Abby Jo.  Coldstone with Duncan.  A sweet poverty simulation in SLPA 488.  Mammoth Muffin at Perkins with Lacey.  Hanging out with my nephew Seth for 3 hours.  Watching Seth's development and being AMAZED!  Lacey getting into the University of Minnesota grad school. (You go girl!)  Having a fiance.  Seeing lots and lots of people.  There are many more, but those are some highlights.  I'm sure there are more to come as the week wraps up!

Well I have a whole load of homework to get done today in the Resource Center.  Next week is going to be a little crazy, so hopefully I can get a decent start on the things I need to get done before Tuesday.  I tend to get distracted here with the computer right next to me.  With that said, I'm gonna get to work!
